The ultimate green bean casserole recipe! It's made with fresh, vibrant green beans, tossed with decadent cream of chicken soup, and mixed with classic fried onions which pack a salty, umami flavor.
Wash and cut the green beans into 1 ½ to 2 inch pieces. Take a medium pot of water to a boil on high heat. Steam the green beans on medium heat for 6-7 minutes and drain. Set aside.
Mix the cream of chicken, milk, soy sauce, ¾ cup fried onions and garlic together in a large mixing bowl.
Fold in the green beans and mix well.
Transfer the mixed green beans into a 9x13” baking pan.
Bake for 30 minutes. Then top the casserole with the remaining ¾ cup fried onions and bake for an additional 8 minutes.

You can make this dish the night before, save the fried onion topping and bake when ready to serve. However, pre-making the dish the night before will cause the beans to lose some of their vibrant green color.
Mixing the ingredients prior to adding it to the casserole will ensure every bean is evenly covered in the creamy soup mixture.
